For web designers, agencies and client websites

Check BFSG conformity properly.

*Prepared, not certified. Checked against our own logic – no regulatory approval.

A guided assessment workflow for web designers and agencies: clarify scope, audit website flows click by click, document EN 301 549 / WCAG criteria, review e-commerce and checkout journeys, check Anlage 3 information and receive a clear result: conformant, non-conformant or not determinable.

Opens the signup form. No upfront payment, no hidden costs.

We are looking for 3–5 web designers or agencies for the first manual pilot. Pilot price: 49 €. No upfront payment through the waitlist.

Prepared against WCAG 2.2 AA · EN 301 549 · BFSG Anlage 3

The problem

Scanners find signals. Clients want a decision.

Lighthouse, WAVE and axe can provide technical signals. But they do not answer the client's real question: is the website BFSG conformant in the relevant scope, non-conformant or not reliably determinable? That requires scope clarification, complete user flows, manual interaction checks, standards mapping, Anlage 3 documentation and evidence.

  • 01

    Scanners are not enough

Automated tools only find part of the problems.

  • 02

    Reports without scope are risky

Without tested flows and evidence, the conclusion stays weak.

  • 03

    BFSG needs documentation

Anlage 3 information and e-commerce flows belong in the assessment.

Assessment logic

The planned assessment logic

The BFSG Conformity Checker is not designed to generate a simple issue list. It is designed to guide users through a complete assessment workflow and only allow “conformant” when all relevant required areas have passed and are evidenced.

  1. 01

    Clarify scope

Check whether BFSG is likely applicable: B2C, e-commerce, booking, payment, login, customer account, service, product, microenterprise and third-party functions.

  2. 02

    Capture website flows

Capture homepage, navigation, product pages, forms, login, cart, checkout, payment, confirmation, error cases, PDFs and mobile view.

  3. 03

    Audit click by click

Check links, buttons, inputs, dropdowns, modals, date pickers, cookie banners, payment widgets and checkout buttons individually.

  4. 04

    Document WCAG / EN 301 549

Document perceivability, operability, understandability and robustness with evidence.

  5. 05

    Check Anlage 3

Review service description, service execution, accessibility requirement fulfilment and market surveillance authority information.

  6. 06

    Generate result

Conformant, non-conformant, not determinable, expert review required or legal review required.

Result logic

No vague score. Clear status logic.

The system should not output a vague percentage score. It should only say “BFSG conformant in tested scope” when all relevant assessment steps are complete, passed and evidenced.

  • BFSG conformant in tested scope

All relevant areas passed and are documented.

  • Non-conformant

At least one critical required area fails.

  • Not determinable

Scope, third parties, evidence or manual review are incomplete.

  • Expert review required

Technical or specialist evaluation requires qualified review.

  • Legal review required

Legal applicability, formal duties or client scope are unclear.
